The position is embedded in the Research Unit 2518 “Functional dynamics of ion channels and transporters – DynIon” of the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (Spokesperson K. Benndorf) (https://www.uniklinikum-jena.de/dynion/en/). DynIon brings together leading scientists from all over Germany in the fields of biophysical laboratory experiments and computational molecular dynamics (MD) simulations. The position will focus on ligand and voltage gating of HCN and CNG channels. The position is funded for three years.
The institute is excellently equipped and provides many opportunities for further qualification, covering membrane biophysics, electrophysiology, molecular biology, biophotonics and mathematical modelling

Applicants are expected to have a master or diploma degree in a natural-scientific field (e. g. Physics, Chemistry, Biophysics, Biochemistry, Molecular Medicine) and should have sincere enthusiasm for basic scientific research. Qualified applicants will work in a team.
